Muay Thai- “The ancient battlefield art of Thailand” was developed over hundreds of years and dates back to the 15th century. It is known as the art of eight limbs due the use of elbows, knees, punches and kicks. Its popularity throughout the world is testament to its effectiveness both as a sport and as a self-defense system. The emergence of Mixed Martial Arts competition in the early 90’s only served to popularize Muay Thai even further. The art is now considered “mainstream” and practiced by the world’s greatest fighters in events such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship and the Australian Fighting Championship.
The Cera Muay Thai Academy holds Muay Thai classes for beginners and advanced students on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm and Saturdays at 10:30 am. All classes run for 90 minutes and can be purchased at Stryve Gyms reception for $10 per casual class. Private Training is by appointment only.
